Facciotti and Klatt continue to Dominate the MX-1 Canadian Series while Harvey podiums in MX-2

Facciotti & Klatt out frontTeam Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing team riders Colton Facciotti and Dusty Klatt continued their drive towards the CMRC MX-1 National Championship in dominating fashion on August 2nd, 2009 at Riverglade MX Park in Moncton, NB. The two British Columbia natives laid waste to the rest of the field as they pushed their Yamaha YZ450Fs to considerable leads in both motos. Klatt added further insult to injury in moto one by coming from dead last on lap one all the way up to pass team Kawasaki’s Bobby Kiniry for second place at the finish.

Dusty KlattTeam manager Joe Skidd was more than impressed with the performance of his riders: “It’s pretty easy to be impressed with a display of dominance like that. Our MX-1 guys did exactly what they needed to do out there today which is keep driving towards the championship. Dusty put in an amazing ride in that first moto by coming from last place to get second and backed it up with a strong runner-up ride in moto two. Colton obviously rode brilliantly with a 1-1 performance and finishing a minute ahead of third place in both motos. He is crafting the results as required and right now he is sitting comfortably in the driver’s seat for this championship.”

Colton Facciotti“I can’t complain with the 1-1 that’s for sure, it’s back to my old ways I guess you could say,” said an excited Facciotti. “I felt good out there all day, my bike was working great and the track had a lot of different lines which worked in my favour. I’m not too sure what gave me the edge I needed today but I do know that I felt confident all day and was having a lot of fun on the track. Things are looking pretty good for the championship with only two races left but I’m just going to take it one lap at a time and stay focused on getting another number one plate for our team.”

Beaton takes the HoleshotThe team also enjoyed some success in the MX-2 class at Riverglade, with riders Aron Harvey and Kyle Beaton riding their Yamaha YZ250Fs to 3rd and 4th overall finishes. “We are all pumped to see Aron finding his stride again,” Skidd explains. “He came back strong today after a difficult race last weekend in Quebec to put himself on the podium. He looked good to win there in the second moto as the lap times show that he was the fastest guy on the track, but unfortunately he made a few small mistakes which held him to second. Kyle had a good ride today as well to grab 4th. It’s been a long road to recovery for him with his hand injury, which are the kind which Jean-Sebastien Roy has experienced and has always said that type of injury are the hardest to come back from.”

Harvey was happy with his comeback ride: “I definitely felt better on the track today than I have the last couple of weekends. I had a few problems in the first moto and ended up 7th but the second moto went much better. Aron HarveyI led for half the race but I had a few problems with lappers and Eric Nye was able to get by me. We ended up battling for the rest of the race and I ended up third overall. I’m pretty happy to be on the podium since I broke my leg here last year and I’m looking forward to racing some new tracks these next two weekends. Hopefully I can keep improving and get another win for the team before the season ends; they’ve all been working really hard and I can’t thank those guys enough.”

Aron Harvey and his Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing teammates will be looking to continue their winning ways at Round 8 of the 2009 Monster Energy Motocross National Series on August 8th and 9th at MX101 in San Del Lee, Ontario.
